Recently I upgraded my ubuntu 10.10 (wubi) to 11.04.I upgraded it
directly from ubuntu ugrade. NowI have issues. One of them is that I am
not able to update. When I do it I get this message:

Could not initialize the package information

An unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package
information.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include
the following error message:

'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with
MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/extras.ubuntu
.com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_binary-i386_Packages, E:The package lists
or status file could not be parsed or opened.'

I can operate the system and I dont know whether version I have is 11.04
or 10.10.But the features specific to UNITY have not been found .How
would I replace the new version if I intend to?There is a red error
symbol at the pane with an error message. Abdul
