dpkg -l '*checkbox*' ls -d /usr/lib/python*/dist-packages/checkbox* This is to determine the versions of checkbox you may have installed, and to see whether the package is present and usable for all versions of python you may have installed. Note the first command has single quotes, those need to be respected.
