The crash only seems to happen when scim and skim are installed
together.  Uninstalling skim helped me (and I can still use scim for my
usual input methods), but that won't be of much help if you absolutely
need to have scim load at startup.

Incidentally, I tried adding scim at startup, but it still loads scim-
launcher twice (no crash, though).
