Still happens in Natty. I can live with it though. My workaround is having a launcher in another panel that does "sh -c "gconftool-2 -s -t bool /apps/panel/toplevels/top_panel_screen0/auto_hide false; gconftool-2 -s -t bool /apps/panel/toplevels/top_panel_screen0/auto_hide true".
