I am not sure what is going on, but audio disappeared entirely (tested
flashplayer in Firefox also) after an attempt to play 204 mp3 files in
Totem (ctrl-a --> open with movie player). Trying other players (vlc,
mplayer) does not help, sound is not muted in volume control, opening
sound preferences reveals nothing out of ordinary, however clicking
"Test Speakers" in "Hardware" tab closes (crashes?) the Sound
Preferences window.
Strangely enough then I log out I can hear GDM greeter welcoming sound,
though sound is still gone if I log back in.
This is the first and only time it has happened so far. I will see if
reboot will fix it (I guess it will).
