Public bug reported:
I just bought a HP 5610, after googleing and finding out it works "perfect"
under Linux.
Seems I'm not in luck today.
Everything works perfect, printing, scanning and I'm assuming faxing ( but I
didn't test this yet ), the only problem happens when scanning using de ADF
(Auto-Document-Feeder) instead of the flatbed.
When scanning using the ADF I get a lot of vertical colored lines ( this seems
te be due to calibiration ).
Did the following tests,
scan regular and ADF using Feisty (kooka)
scan regular and ADF using edgy (kooka)
scan ADF using scanadf on Feisty ( sane-tools)
scan regular and ADF using WinXP in VirtualBox ( Here ADF works ok, though it
requires a 400mb HP Software install )
Printer was installed using the HP Setup application in Feisty and
nothing in Edgy (since on both systems the USB Scanner is autodetected)
I will see if I can get some sane debug results this evening to attach
to the bug, any hints and/or tips are welcomed.
** Affects: sane-backends (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
