Hi Dave, You're right about ndiswrapper. I uninstalled it, rebooted and ran lsusb with no trouble (it also recognized my Netgear USB device). I don't like using ndiswrapper, so I looked for a different solution for my adapter, but unfortunately none of the open source drivers seem to work. I'll log a bug against ndis as suggested.
