Hi,
Please run "apport-collect 786729" and if asked, allow it to change anything.
This will pull in the system information we need.
Just to clarify, pressing the wireless button on the laptop has no effect? What
about enabling/disabling Wireless networking? Does the system see it if you run
lspci or lsusb from a terminal?
Thank you.
** Description changed:
Hello all,
firstly i'm kinda new to reporting bugs, so please forgive me if I
forget to give all the information etc.
- Secondly, I have a Compaq Persino CQ60 with Atheros 5001 wireless card
- and when I try to connect to a wireless box, it says "wireless disabled
- by hardware switch". Now I know that Acer and Dell laptops are having
- the same problem, but they don't seem to have the same wireless chipset
- as I, so I though it would be best to file a new bug report.

I used to use Ubuntu from 9.04 - 10.10 for time to time and the wireless
never worked, but looking deeply on the ubuntu website at device
support, it said that my chipset worked with 10.10 and 11.04, but in
fact it did not.
If anyone needs more information, I will give it out :)
Thanks
