I have exactly the same problem with Xubuntu 6.06.1 after a recent update. Everything works OK up to the windows logon screen but after entering username and password, when I press OK the whole window just disappears.
-- rdesktop fails after ok clicked on remote desktop, started after 20April's update for Edgy.
