Public bug reported:

I have a Acer Travelmate TM8372TG which has a Broadcom BCM4357 WLAN
which worked fine in Ubuntu up to Maverick. Since Natty it doesn't any
more. Both with upgraded and newly installed Natty.

dmesg recognizes the card and assigns eth1 to it. In the "additional
drivers" program it also lists the driver as up and running. But Network
Manager tells me that WLAN is deactivated by hardware key. Which is not.
If I press the WLAN key on the keyboard, Network Manager starts telling
me that the device is not available.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
