Binary package hint: rfkill

Wireless is disabled. When I tray to start it up, I get:
susan@ubuntu:~$ sudo dhclient wlan0
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible due to RF-kill
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible due to RF-kill

But when I do 
sudo rfkill unblock all
or
sudo rfkill unblock wifi
nothing happens 
then i reboot, and nothing happens. 
No wireless. 
nothing happens
