Thanks a lot for reporting this bug. The reason you can't take a
screenshot while the menu is open is because of the way GTK has been
designed. This has been reported before as a bug and rejected by the
developers as part of the design.

What you can do instead is open the screenshot application by opening
the Dash, either by clicking the Ubuntu icon in the upper left of the
screen, or pressing the Super key (Windows key on most computers), and
typing 'screenshot' into the search bar. Open the screenshot app by
clicking on the camera icon with the text 'Take Screenshot' below it.
You will see an option in there to take a picture after a time delay,
allowing you to set up the scene you wish to capture before the picture
is taken.

If you can do that and upload the image, then that would be a great
help.
