I fixed this using the driver from realtek. Also, it seems the problem does not exist in fedora. Maybe fedora already has the new drivers, and ubuntu is slow?
They're here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=5&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false Or a direct download: ftp://WebUser:[email protected]/cn/nic/r8168-8.023.00.tar.bz2 At least thats the link that worked for me. It replaced the r8169 driver with an r8168 one. One our machines, we had to also delete the r8169.ko file in the system, and to be safe we blacklisted it and ran dpkg-reconfigure -a -u -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/787704 Title: r8169 ethernet crashes linux -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
