I don't think this is the proper fix in itself.  Substituting one bit of
natural language into another bit of natural language often causes
problems; for instance, what if the translations of "CD-ROM" and "USB
disk" in a given language have different genders?  We should neutralise
the text instead so that it can be appropriate for either medium.
