Public bug reported:
Enable Desktop effects (i've reproduced this using an Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440
and a GeForceFX 5200)
Turn on wobbly windows but do not turn on "Workspaces on a Cube"
Move to workspace 2
open workspace switcher preferences
use scroll mouse over "number of workspaces" box, and scroll down quickly.
desktop flashes, panels fade in and out a few times then desktop goes
completely blank except for mouse pointer and background image.
only way i found to recover is CTRL+ALT+Backspace.

Desktop items/panels/icons disappear when chaning the number of workspaces to 1
while on workspace 2 with wobbly windows activated.
