I re-installed version 10.04. I could not perform my fast paced job with a laptop that would not hibernate/ suspend. I have used version 10.04 now without any issue. I just barely updated to version 10.10 last night and it appears that the problem of not hibernating has been resolved. If the problem returns. I will re-install version 10.04 again and not look back. Thanks for your efforts.
