I have an Asus N53JQ. I added the following line at the end of the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file:
options snd-hda-intel model=auto position_fix=0 And the sound was working fine until I installed Windows 7 on another partition and reinstalled GRUB2. Sometimes the spearkers are working and sometimes they're not, I think Windows is the problem but I still need it for gaming. (sound is working in Windows) The output for headsets is working properly all the time.
