/usr/share/acpi-support/screenblank has the following line:
xset dpms force off
On a just updated feisty, Fn+F3 (my screenblank key) will not work because of a
refused connection:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
xset: unable to open display ":0"
"xhost +" solved the problem for me. I don't have any special
configuration here, I don't discard however that something here got
broken by me and not by ubuntu. Reporting just in case.
