Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gs-esp
I'm using Kubuntu 7.04 (clean install) to print to a Xerox Phaser 6100 (with
the splix package). But whatever I try to print I get the following entries in
cups error.log:
I [20/Apr/2007:23:44:24 +0200] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops (PID
10659) for job 6.
I [20/Apr/2007:23:44:24 +0200] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster
(PID 10660) for job
6.
I [20/Apr/2007:23:44:24 +0200] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertospl2
(PID 10661) for j
ob 6.
I [20/Apr/2007:23:44:24 +0200] Started backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb (PID
10662) for job 6.

rastertospl2 is part of the splix package. gs-esp seems to be crashing
with an assertion failing. This part of the log is from printing the
CUPS test page -- or better: trying to; I could not print up to now.
Please let me know if you need any more information and/or testing...
Thank you very much,
Adi Kriegisch
