@varun kumar, for me there are two ways to suspend: (1) Although the screen is garbled, the dialogue asking for your password is there - just type it and hit return. On my screen, the left hand 25% is clean, so I can find the power down options and suspend.
(2) Alternatively, and much more simply, I can just close the screen/lid.
