This is should probably be marked a duplicate of #787995 (since #787995 contains more information). In the new bug report, I have attached strace and other relevant information. Please read #787995, as it contains more details. I have isolated the bug as being related to the selected gtk-theme. However, I am not sure if the theme or the application(leafpad) is at fault. Since no other GTK apps on my system crashes (Firefox, Thunderbird, Opera, OpenOffice, et.al) I would guess leafpad is at fault. However, I noticed that this only happens when the following conditions are met: 1: GTK theme oxygen-gtk is selected 2: Leafpad is started from KDE. Please note that I did not select this theme specifically. I will remember that. However, sometimes ubuntu-bug seems to be a hassle to use. Also, it is not clear to me what private/sensitive data ubuntu- bug collects and publishes about my system, if any.
