I have attached two error messages; I hope they will help you. Message 1 is from trying to do an update, while Message 2 is from trying to load on menu-xdg (Debian menu system). Message 1 came from following the standard procedures upon receiving an update (orange icon on the upper-right menu bar). Message 2 was done by using synaptic > search > apply.
