Binary package hint: unity-2d
As the title says, in Oneiric unity-2d both Dash and the application
menu fail to open. Dash doesn't even try to open but clicking on the app
menu launcher does very briefly open the menu (one second or less).
I've encountered this with the Oneiric alpha1 iso-testing live CD
(i386), and also post installation with same image. I noticed that there
were a few updates available after installing and even after applying
those updates the problem persists, and I've now also encountered this
upon completing an upgrade test.
Unity-3d (the normal Ubuntu option) does work OK.
