I'm marking this as a duplicate of Launchpad Bug 768509.
It's worth mentioning that the problem should go away if you disable
gapless playback in Edit > Preferences. There has been talk of
completely re-writing Banshee's gapless implementation during the
current cycle, so hopefully this problem will be fixed by Ubuntu's 11.10
release.
