I'm not familiar with TrueCrypt or how to get it, but this sounds like a
new way that they are using menu.  It's kinda difficult to say how that
is without looking at the source.

A work around is to modify the TrueCrypt launcher so that it does
"UBUNTU_APPMENU=" before executing the executable.  This will make it so
that it doesn't use the application menus.
