I imagine this is because Gwibber caches tweets (no doubt to improve
performance, and because Twitter limits the amount of tweets that can be
retrieved in one go)

It seems to me that it would make sense to remove tweets that you've
deleted through Gwibber, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to
'discover' tweets that had been deleted through other sources (web
interface for example)
