I can confirm this as of 0.5.1-0ubuntu1 on feisty. I have xmms but when
attempting to add the xfce4-xmms-plugin to the xfce4 panel I get the
error:
"Cannot find any supported media player. You have to install at least
one player first."
Installing xmms-dev does resolve this but it should work without it, or
list it as a dependency.
