After leaving computer idle for 10 min and monitor didn't go to sleep, i ran
again:
killall gnome-power-manager && gnome-power-manager --verbose 2>&1 | tee
~/gpm2.log

The output was:
gnome-power-manager: no process found

so i opened System>Preferences>Power Management and closed it.
This is the output log after i closed it.
