Thanks for your bug report. What volume controls are you talking about?
if you adjust the volume from the sound menu, does the same problem
occur?
Please try adjusting the master volume in alsamixer. Open a terminal,
and run alsamixer, then use the up and down arrows to change the master
volume. Please report back as to whether the same thing happens when
using alsamixer.
