I'm using oneiric's linux-image-2.6.39-3-generic on a machine that's in
other regards running natty, trying to work on bug 745112. This machine
has in other regards been working very well.
When I run a 'make -j' kernel build, I get a lot of dmesg errors like
shown below, and also many compiler errors indicating it's seeing sytax
errors in various files. When I open the files, I do indeed see random
garbage in them. I have rebooted the machine, checked the underlying
filesystem and also run badblocks across the disk without finding any
problems. Dropping all the caches gets the correct file contents back.
A non-parallel kernel build works ok, so I suspect an ecryptfs bug
that's only tweaked by heavy concurrent io.
