I use Feisty Fawn. Totem version 2.18.1.

I believe the "cache fill fails" because the progress bar on the bottom
scrolls and stops before it hits 100% for the initial stream load. The
same thing occurs when the network stream is unable to keep up the
bitrate as fast as the movie progresses. IE: it pauses to recache the
stream during playback. However, when the movie has already started to
play subsequent pauses appropriately wait util the cache fills back up
and then continue. It almost appears as if the initial load has a
timeout on it.

I trigger the "bug" by loading a HD (480p) movie trailer off of Apple's
Quicktime movie trailer site. I don't always hit it, just sometimes.

Once again, mplayer doesn't exhibit this issue.
