Hi there, Thanks for your comment, but it shows a small misunderstanding. I am not trying to extract files from an archive, I am trying to create an archive using rar. The ubuntu environment indeed uses UTF-8, and rar use to be able to handle these filename quite fine (as I mentioned, on Lucid and Maverick it works well). There is a regression on Natty, and I assume it is related to the updated version of rar [went from 3.90 to 4.00]).
Using Winrar in wine is certainly an option, although I would rather use "native" applications.
