Just by looking at this bug report, it smells like the race condition that I fixed with upstream commit 3b06b3ebf44170c90c893c6c80916db6e922b9f2, which was released in v3.0-rc1. The upstream bug is:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36002 Unfortunately, there are two code cleanup patches that you'll first have to apply to a 2.6.39 kernel. I was hoping to do a small bug fix patch that I could get into -stable, but I didn't see an easy way to do it without cleaning up the code quite a bit. You'll need to apply the patches in this order: 1. c4f790736ca8d7d86883c5aee2ba1caa15cd8da3 2. 5ccf92037c7c6e6f28175fd245284923f939259f 3. 3b06b3ebf44170c90c893c6c80916db6e922b9f2 ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #36002 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36002 ** Also affects: linux via http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36002 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/793367 Title: ecryptfs corruption during make -j -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
