Binary package hint: synaptic
Whenever I select a package to install which requires multiple other
packages (e.g. KOffice or k3b on Ubuntu) and the dialogue pops up asking
about all the extra packages to install, when I scroll through the list
in the dialogue, Synaptic suddenly freezes. Then it's impossible to even
force-quit (via system-monitor, or otherwise), because synaptic is no
longer on the list of processes. So the only thing to do it to restart
the system.
