Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

When opening a plain text message, Thunderbird does not display the
message until you click the expander on the subject line in the message
view.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Use classic view with the message pane showing.
2. Open a mail folder with plain text messages
3. Select a plain text message from the folder
4. Expand / reduce the subject line

Expected Results:
The message body is displayed in the message pane on step 3 (as in previous
versions)

Actual Results:
The last message to be displayed remains in the window (it even finishes
drawing it, if it hasn't fully loaded before you select the plain text message)
at step 3. It is only readable at step 4. If this was the first message
selected from the folder, the message pane remains completely shaded with the
message background colour.

Version Info:
version 1.5.0.10 (20070403) running on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. Previously worked on
Dapper Drake.
