Hello. I also have a MSI GX700 laptop with ALC888 and the speakers give no sound, the headphones work tho. The only sound I get is trough it's internal "Sub-woofer". In my search for an easy solution that doesn't involve reverting from pulseaudio I have found that many have this problem on the GX700 and none a solution.
