@Jesús Martínez That would be the problem. You either do not have a Synaptics touchpad, or if you do the kernel is not recognizing it as such. cat /proc/bus/input/devices should show what device the kernel thinks it is dealing with. I believe some ASUS K53SV models come with an Elantech smartpad rather than Synaptics.
