@Christopher I'm not sure what you mean by "not an issue in 11.04" - in which releases do you see the symptom and not see the symptom, respectively? Also, can you try a daily snapshot as outlined at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules?
