I mentioned "reverting" to an older kernel or even 10.10 above.
I have found that if, on booting, I choose "Older Versions of Linux" and then
the only non-recovery kernel offered,
my bluetooth mouse works consistently, even before logging in

$ uname -a
Linux mynetbook 2.6.35-24-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 2 01:41:57 UTC 2010
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

When are we going to get a new kernel as good (for bluetooth) as that
one?
