affects me. I also have a Aspire Timeline 5810TZ. It was a problem with
prior releases too (back to Lucid). I had to go in an edit fstab to
create an entry for the drive. I just had to do a install (rather than
upgrade) of 11.04 (passwd policy would not accept a new password I
entered and changed it to something else - lost access - should I report
that as a bug?). I chose to do a fresh install. The CD/DVD drive is
happily recognized during the install, but once the install is complete
there is no desktop/fstab activity. udisks shows the drive and media
also, but udisks --monitor-detail does not register a media insertion,
though it does register a media ejection.
