We have a HP Pavilion dv6 at work, with a Wubi-installation of Kubuntu on it. When I performed an ordinary upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04 it broke. Now it will not boot. It halts and the keyboard does not work.
Finally I removed the installation and tried to install 11.04 via Wubi from scratch. The in-Windows part of the installation works well, but when the second part after booting Kubuntu for the first time commences, it halts to a complete stop. Every time I reboot, Kubuntu tries to complete the installation, but it halts at the same place. I pressed [ESC] to see the messages during boot, and you find what I see in the attached log file (copied by hand). When Kubuntu reaches this stage, I have to use the physical power button to turn the laptop off. The messages on screen differs slightly from time to time, but it always crashes at the same point. I hope this is a help for anyone... ** Attachment added: "A log of boot messages, when this bug hits." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/775747/+attachment/2164519/+files/dv6-log.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775747 Title: Kubuntu Natty is not installable/bootable on HP Pavilion dv6-3105er laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/775747/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
