Binary package hint: apport
Every time I have installed Oneiric, whether it be from daily-live
images or the Alpha 1 image or derivative (e.g., lubuntu) images, the
installed system has apport disabled (with "enabled=0" in
/etc/default/apport). This continues to be the case with apport
1.21-0ubuntu1 on a system just freshly installed from the Oneiric i386
20110610 daily-live (from which I am reporting this bug). Since Oneiric
is currently Ubuntu's development branch, apport should be enabled by
default on all freshly installed Oneiric systems (as well as on running
daily-lives, where it is already correctly enabled).
This is a sort of reprise of bug 401962, but since that bug affected
karmic and was fixed (and I don't think it ever reappeared in the
subsequent three release branches), I'm filing a new report instead.
