Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I'm using Ubuntu Feisty, kernel version 2.6.20-15, and KDE 3.5.6 (with the knetworkmanager front-end). I also using ndiswrapper with a bcm4306 card. Network-Manager can connect to a wired network on boot without problem. If a wired connection has been made, it will connect to a wireless network, also without any problems. If, however, I boot up without the wired connection, NM cannot configure the card, freezing at 28%. In this situation I can configure the card using "sudo dhclient eth1" and it works fine, so I believe the problem is not in ndiswrapper. I have commented out all interfaces but Io in /etc/network/interfaces. I used Feisty through it's alpha and beta stages, when network- managers's functionality was understandably hit-and-miss, but this particular problem did not appear until the late beta stages, no more than a few weeks before the Feisty launch. I started a thread in the ubuntu forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=415231), in which another user says he has the same problem using gnome. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Network-manager connects to wifi only conditionally https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109668 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
