I am also experiencing this, but I am not running Opera. The times I've experienced it, I have had the following applications open: Firefox, GEdit, Terminal and Libreoffice Calc (each maximized on a seperate workspace). It always happend after moving around the workspaces with <ctrl>+<alt>+Arrow.
