Does this also happen with the ffmpeg package from oneiric?
Alternatively, you could also try the motumedia PPA 'libav-daily'.
I think this has been dealt with in the newer upstream release, but I'm
not sure. Also, a proper backtrace with debug information would be very
useful here.
