sorry - I filed many a bug report and didn't seem to get anywhere so this weekend I ended up switching to OpenSuSE 10.2 and it's been working so far flawlessly with my hardware. I like Ubuntu, it works nice on my laptop, but for whatever reason my desktop machine wouldn't take to it. That link no longer exists.
