Changing Window theme to "Wildbush" Kills X and stop user from logging
in ever again:
Using Xubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-bit.
If User clicks on theme "Wildbush" in Settings>Window manager, X server dies
and user is not able to log in again to accout, E.G. after logging in, user is
back again to login screen (because X server dies i suppose).
Workaround:
One needs to change manually value of the theme to something else then
"Wildbush" ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfwm4.xml
<property name="theme" type="string" value="Wildbush"/> to
value="Albatross" or value="" to be able to log in again.
I propose updating LTS with changed package that would aether implement
fixed "Wildbush" theme that does not KILL X server or one that removes
that theme from package.
Further, i am a bit shocked why such problematic theme should kill X
server at all and would like to see some protection of Xfce and Xorg
from such things and also more pre-release testing.
This is a known problem for a long time and i wonder why it is not backported
to LTS yet,
since it by merely selecting wrong theme, STOPS USER FROM FURTHER USING ACCOUNT
and should be set Critical to fix in supported releases!
