Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
It looks like another process on your system had a lock on /var/cache/debconf/config.dat. This is normally a transient situation and should resolve itself. Simply performing the update again should solve this issue. If it does not fuser -v will return the locking process if any. Kill it and try performing the upgrade again. Please update this bug report if this resolves your issue. ** Changed in: mysql-dfsg-5.1 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798065 Title: package mysql-server-5.1 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.10 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-dfsg-5.1/+bug/798065/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
