This can be avoided by adding "radeon.modeset=0" to the boot cmdline. Doing it every boot is not an acceptable solution though, because then the graphics card can't be turned off and it "idles" in full power, consuming a huge amount of battery power. I'm running natty on a Core i3, 330M, GMA5700MHD graphics, with a Radeon HD4550. Chipset is Intel Havendale/Clarkdale rev 02, HM55 rev 05. Compal NBLBX board.
My stack strace looks exactly the same. I also don't know how to capture it when it happens. ** Attachment added: "dmidecode output" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/782195/+attachment/2172357/+files/dmidecode -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/782195 Title: Radeon driver crashes on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/782195/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
