I don't know how , but after one week of problems the problem is gone. Unknown are the ways of technologies :). Now I can connect without problems from the Virtual Windows as well from Ubuntu I can't tell if the latest update of the package network-manager-pptp made the difference or it was something else.
If someone else have the same problem here are some tips from a newbie : - verify that your router has pptp passtrouth . As for me I had one Fon2100 router at work and I change it firmware to Gargoyle firmware just because with one router Dir-300 I could access the VPN, but when on fon with original firmware it was impossible. - enable logging on server-side and on client side too, this will bring some good info about possible errors that could occur while the client try to establish a tunnel with the server. - sometimes resetting the router helps Unfortunately since the problem is solved on my side, I cannot give any feedback about the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/787503 Title: Ubuntu PPTP disconect problem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/787503/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
